    • I’m 78 years of age I just turned that on 17th and December so I have a lot of medications that pays for and then I have an infusion I have to have every month and I’m Reno a kidney transplant patient and also I have a lot going on like heart problems I have a pacemaker I have arthritis I have like a problem with I’m not mistaken I think this hepatitis just what I have and I also have diabetes so it’s a lot going on with me and it’s a little bit more but it’s not enough I can say about my health but you can always get my medical records from my doctors do I qualify for the $3,000 and or food stamps

  1. I’m on SSD and don’t look forward for COLA. Why? Because once my benefits go up about $32, everything else goes up. My rent goes up. I recieved SNAP I started with $281 now I’m down to $23 in benefits. So how’s is it so great!😞

  2. My spouse & are are both very ill, needing assistance for co-pays, deductibles, & help with prescription/hospital costs. We pay the monthly $174 EACH for Medicare is taken out of our checks, & my check was was cut in 1/2 bc I married in 1999. I cannot afford life-threatening medical procedures, either.Yes, we got a raise, but I believe I get $17-$25 more from SSDI starting 1/1/24. My spouse gets about $60 more ( approx) monthly from SSDI..he’s 72 & I am 65. We’ve not received ANY help from the government in ’23, bc our income combined doesn’t require filing taxes, meaning we are below poverty level, & our government doesn’t check those that cannot file yearly taxes. We DO own a home, but the cots of repairs + cost of living, such as increase in medical help, food, utilities, etc., are too much to bear. I paid off my student loan from 1982 thru continued education to 1999, bc my Grandma left me just enough to pay the $44,000.00 loans, consolidated, in 2005 @ 9%, mind you.
There is now way I’ll see reimbursement of $10,000 for student loans bc we fell between the cracks & timing. Both of us put decades into the system to get what’s due to us from the gov’t. This is not fair. SSDI recipients have to pull teeth to get compensated with stimulus checks, & bottom line: One has to file taxes in order to receive anything, that which we can’t do bc of low income level. I am debilitated to the point I cannot leave the house 95% of the time to do anything. Even IF we take a reverse mortgage out, it will diminish within 2-3 years bc of horrendous medical bills, + more surgery bills to come in ’24. Also, one has to come up with a lot of cash to pay for the processes in reverse mortgage, & we don’t have that kind if $. What are people like me/us supposed to do? I can barely use a computer, & really need contact from SSDI/SSI by email to see what we can do to NOT lose our home. It’s kust lovely when one feels pushed aside & rejected by their own country.
