$2400 Cola Checks Releasing Soon – Stimulus for SSI SSDI VA Payment Dates & How can You Track?

For many Americans, the cost of food, petrol, and other necessities has increased due to inflation, but the sharp increases are particularly onerous for seniors receiving fixed Social Security income. A recently proposed law would increase beneficiaries’ Social Security benefits by USD 200 per month, or USD 2,400 yearly, to help with the gap that many seniors are facing. Social Security recipients may be eligible to receive checks totalling USD 2,400. Those who are 62 in 2023 may also be eligible for this check.

Instead of receiving a USD 2,400 payment all at once, they would get USD 200 over the course of a year. For seniors, having an extra USD 2,400 in a year would help them get through the challenges of inflation. It is unclear, though, whether or not this check will actually become a reality because this measure still has to be approved. So check this page to learn about USD 2400 Cola Checks Released Soon, USD 2400 Cola Checks 2024 Deposit Date.

$2400 Cola Checks Releasing Soon

Recipients of Social Security get an annual cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) but with the high rates of inflation this year, that gain might not hold up. The cost of necessities for consumers increased by the highest amount, when the consumer price index leaped a startling 8.6% over the same month the previous year. U.S. Representative and U.S. Senator proposed the Social Security Expansion Act in 2022. Anybody who is now receiving Social Security benefits or who turns 62 would get extra USD 200 in each monthly check under the Act.

The bill is appropriate in two ways. First of all, it comes after the Social Security Administration declared earlier this month that if nothing is done to strengthen the program, Americans will cease getting their full Social Security payments in around 13 years. Here i will be sharing updates on USD 2400 Cola Checks for SSI SSDI VA, Who is Getting 2024 COLA amount and How to Track USD 2400 Cola Checks.

Who is Getting $2400 Cola Checks 2024 Deposit Date

  • In the upcoming month, you should anticipate getting two checks from the Social Security Administration (SSA), the second of which will be somewhat larger than the first if you are one of the millions of Americans who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI). About 7.5 million low-income persons who are 65 years of age or older and have a handicap get monthly benefits from SSI.
  • Despite being called monthly payments, a scheduling reason results in the issuance of two checks in the months of March, June, September, and December, and none in the immediately succeeding months of April, July, October, and January. In each of the remaining months, recipients get one check.
  • SSI beneficiaries will get payments on December 29th of this year; however, the amount on the second check should be a little bit greater.
  • The first check, which was received on December 1st, has a maximum amount of USD 1,371 for a couple and USD 914 for an individual.
  • The 2024 cost-of-living adjustment, with maximums of USD 943 for an individual and USD 1,415 for a couple, will be reflected in the second check, though.

Cost-of-Living Adjustments- Explained

  • In order to guarantee that monthly payments keep up with growing expenses, Social Security benefits and SSI payments are subject to an annual cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) based on inflation rates each year.
  • The Social Security Administration (SSA) declared in October that recipients will get a 3.2% rise for 2024, increasing the highest SSI payment by USD 30 and the average monthly payout by over USD 50.
  • Higher payments will be made to Social Security recipients in January, and to SSI recipients beginning on December 29. Early in December, the SSA will start mailing beneficiaries to inform them of their increased monthly benefit amount.
  • Third-quarter data (July, August, and September) from the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) is used to calculate cost-of-living adjustments.
  • The adjustment for 2024 has dropped to 3.2%, more in line with the 2.6% average annual rise observed over the previous two decades, due to decreases in inflation over the preceding year.

          • My name is Therese, I’m 52, single f, and on SSI. I’ve been homeless for 10 yrs and have tried to get housing. Somehow I keep slipping through the cracks. I live in Nashville, TN. Can you help me find a place?

  2. I really want to know why these payments are called, “Stimulus Checks”? They are our regular Social security checks. We just get them early at the end of certain months because the 1st falls on a Saturday or Sunday of the next month.
There’s nothing extra about it. I truly wish it was an extra check. Try living on $914.00 a month. It isn’t easy. We struggle on whether to pay a bill or have enough money to repair a badly needed vehicle.
Thank God there’s a program for food, whether it be food stamps or the food bank, there is truly something there to benefit from.

      • I’m in the same boat..here in Oklahoma. Luckily I had paid off my home but my roof is collapsing I can’t fix it lol . But I had to go on disability my medical conditions were bad I couldn’t keep a job and be reliable…I can’t imagine how young people are making it today

    • I understand your hardship as well. I’m in the same boat. It’s just sometimes I feel that the government would rather just sink our boat. I’d like jyst one of them to volunteer to live on what we make for just 1 year. Heck, they probably wouldn’t make it one month. And God forbid you need something extra. The car repair anything and a battery my van is down now I need a battery. Those nights where you’ve tried so hard that you can’t cry anymore and you just aimlessly walk around your house looking to see if there’s anything valuable you can sell. They wouldn’t be able to survive.

  6. I live off of social security and disability. Out of bother checks I recieve 648 dollars. But 384 a month on back child support which is my responsibility. Still living off of 648 dollars a month sucks. Can’t work even if I wanted to. So any type of raise would be great for me.

  7. IT DOESN’T HELP ME TO GET A COLA RAISE BECAUSE WHEN I GET A RAISE THE FOOD STAMPS PROGRAM TAKE WHAT EVER THE COLA RAISE AND TAKES THAT AMOUNT OUT OF MY FOOD STAMPS AMOUNT AND THEN SECTION 8 HOUSING AUTHORITY RAISES MY RENT TO THE PERCENTAGE OF THE COLA RAISE
MY FOOD STAMPS IS 107 TAKE THE 50 OUT AND I’M LEFT WITH $57.00 FOR FOOD AND SECTION 8 PAYMENT IS $27.PLUS THE COLA RAISE FOR MY RENT ENDS UP BEING $75

  9. SSI should get one even if you’re not 65. I will be 62 in April. SSI is under the poverty line so they should be doing something about that. I’m not making it though the month with what I get paid

  10. There is really no help in the American economy just a lot of brainwashing to get the citizens to believe something that’s not true we all knows the cost of living is out of control and the state funding is poor I don’t see why other countries think so high of America because we the people can’t afford to live this paper recycling system there is really no help food stamps only last for 3 weeks if that family are struggling big time many have lost everything until homeless is the new word for home now no one really cares about us only dollars for survival this whole system was built for make believe that’s it god bless us Americans lol are you joking right I’m just saying

    • When we got them last year we didn’t have to apply for those who are on SSI and we get the full amount of checks so we should get them the same way and then I’m guessing around the same time around March but we’ll probably have to call the US Treasury department since they’re the ones that hang out the checks not SSA

  13. I think all senior citizens should get 200 dollars in food stamps an at least 1500 in social Security! Rent is outrageous, food is ridiculous, an we are barely able to survive! This country helps everyone else but not it’s citizens! How sad!!

  14. I think our government should have to pay rent and buy food on 914.00 a month and just see how loo ng they have no money, oh yeah and not have any assets more than 2000.00 cause I sure can’t my money is gone within hours of getting it.
