Additional Security Income (SSI) is another benefit available to certain retirees. Retirement recipients of SSI will get an increase in COLA on December 29, but just for SSI benefits; Social Security benefits will not be affected. The February payment for SSI beneficiaries will be delivered as per schedule with an additional 3.2%.

Since it was a holiday, SSA has arranged for their payday to be paid on that day and three days ahead of time. February 3, 10, 17, and 24 are the dates on which seniors 67 years of age or older will get their next retirement checks, according to the Social Security Administration. • February 3, 2024 is the payout date for retirees who began receiving Social Security benefits before to May 1997.
  • Paycheck on February 10, 2024 for retirees with a birthdate falling between 1 and 10.

  • Social Security has already mailed its first retirement payout. It was reserved for pensioners who had retired before 1997, and the Administration will mail it out on February 3. You must have requested for payment after 1997 in order to be eligible for the other checks, which should arrive in the coming weeks.
  • February 10th, 17th, and 24th are the last three days for payments. Recipients who retired after 1997 will get their retirement check on one of these days based on the day of their birth. Therefore, if you are in the first of these categories, you could receive a check in the upcoming week.

  1. The SS people are a laugh and a half. My wife’s SS check raise of 3.2% Netted her a loss of $2.00. Jerks “R” Us.

    • I got a $20 raise on my SSI check so where where is the stimulus is the people want to get it that’s on SSI you got to call the social security office what do you do

      • So why are we getting a raise in social security when we get a reduction in food stamps. It makes no sense, what does one have to do with the other.
We are low income and we need all the help we can get.
        Thank you.

          • I was getting $1,477.00. They said I make to much money so I lost my Medicaid. They took $514.60 out of my check for February. Again I have to pay insurance premium’s monthly. I don’t qualify for food stamps either, I make to much money. It’s like they want to help you but there really hurting us even more in the long run. May this year I turn 65 and I lose more of my extra benefits. They give it and then take it away. I’ve been without a car for 2 years but can’t afford to live and try and get a car too. Then another thing they do is go by your ziip code. It all depends on where you live and that’s how they figure alot of what your benefits will be. I don’t understand what anyone’s zip code has to do with it. Apparently the people on disability don’t matter. We can’t win for losing.

    • If you have Medicare or Medicaid you will not receive any help from the government ever. Every stimulus or something you try to apply for you will be turned down. I have been trying and I have been turned down for everyone because I am covered by one of these insurances. If you want any stimulus checks or subsidy checks you have to get rid of your Medicaid or Medicare. This is what you get for voting for joe biden people.

  2. Bunch of crap. Disability folks just left out basicly. 3.8% is nothing. What a joke. Small increase? How? If you do get it like I did and receive snap benefits to help receiving it means they lower your snap benefits. So where does that help any one? You give on one just to take from another. There is no help in that. It’s just robbing Peter to pay Paul. Ridiculous.

    Reply
    • Not only does my SNAP get cut $15 out of the $122 I received my rent will also go up. I may break even. With every COLA we get I lose on SNAP and also have a rent increase.

      Reply
      • Every year when we get a COLA in rease….our rent goes up. Wife and I received a combined total increase of 79 dollars…rent went up 100 dollars more . We receive 23 dollars a month on EBT .
JOB AND FAMILY SERVICE STOPPED PAYING MY MONTHLY PREMIUMS for Health Insurance…so with me paying all of the above…I will have 2.22 left per month after I pay everything…we’ll live on the balance of my wifes check of 200 dollars after her ar payment is made. We have cut out everything that is only a want…naturally we kept just the needs. Can’t even pay our church offerings ….plus we have to groceries an gas for car an pay for so.e prescriptions out of that 200 dollars of the wifes check.
SO TELL ME…..HOW ARE IS THE GOVERNMENT REALLY HELPING THE DISABLED OR ANYONE ELSE WHO IS ON SOCIAL SECURITY BENIFITS ?
I WOULD SERIOUSLY LOVE A ANSWER TO THIS.

      • Same. With the cost of regular expenses. How are you supposed to live? $23! Thanks for switching me to Medicare. Now I have to pay for the 20 pills I take per day. I can’t even afford rent and eat too.

    • Exactly right! They gave me $100 raise on my disability and knocked out $195 in snap benefits. Lucky my community is great with helping people out.

      Reply
      • How did you receive a $100 raise on your disability? You would have had to be getting a check for several thousand dollars a month to be getting this kind of raise. Most people got like a $40 or $50 raise. And if you were getting several thousand a month, you should not qualify for food stamps.

  3. They’re giving us the 3.8% increase but they taking it right back when we pay the Medicare Part B or $174 they increase in that so how much are we getting

    Reply
  4. I’d love an increase, it would truly help. But, my rent has gone up, health insurance, auto insurance, gas, price on food, and the cost of my meds. Whatever increase they give me, it seems like it has already been factored into other areas before I even receive the increase. I just don’t understand why this country can help so many outsiders before they can help their own people. I need affordable housing because every increase puts my rent up higher until I’m forced to move in with a family member… I wonder if I go to another country to seek help will I get the things we provide to outsiders 🫣

    Reply
    • This country not only provide for outsiders, but also to those U.S citizens who use the system. How do YOU think those of us who have worked 30 plus years, retired and still having to pay taxes on our already earned income? We are the ones who are paying more while the ones who are on government assisted programs have better health benefits than us. We don’t get anything handed down to us, we pay and will continue to do so until we’re called to four heavenly home. Social security needs reforming, something is not right.

    • So true and very sad that this government doesn’t even care about Americans that put their money in this program!nothing but a slap in the face to us.

  5. I do not understand why just some states offer this increase in a FEDERAL INCOME that supposedly we ALL PAID INTO. WHEN I APPLIED I had retired in 2016 from a high paying position yet went back to work for low income and my retirement social security was based on low income and I was over 75.

  6. I had a rental in crease from $495. to $535. That’s a $40. Increase, and I only received a $37. increase in my disability check, so technically speaking, I am $77 in the hole. How does that help anyone with anything!? On top of that, they took right at $30. off of my food stamps because I got a raise in disability. I am going to call them and let them know about my rent increase but hears the thing, it will get me maybe $10 back! I’d laugh but it’s no laughing matter! Luckily I am able to get a ride to the food bank every month, and I know how to stretch my food and I like sandwiches!!

    • I’m soon to be 58 and have been on SSDI for about 10 yrs. Definitely not because I want to be. I got a $27 raise but my rent went up $35, lost part of my snap benefits I had to fight to get. How can anyone call it a cost of living raise when everything else rises above? Who can help us? There has to be some help to keep from losing my home.

      Reply
    • Yeah right I haven’t gotten one ever. And my Medicare went up from $99 to $300. And was taken off of snap. I take care of my granddaughter to with no help from anyone not even the government. We are trying to get into a place cause we are homeless living in my truck. Can’t afford to pay deposits or fees for app. If I do we wouldn’t be able to eat or pay for showers at a truck stop. I’ve applied for help but all they give me is the run around from one agency to another.

      Reply
    • I agree with you on the stimulus
Check!! They say one thing and then expect us to forget about it.
If I right they have been talking about the stimulus since Last year,!!! And then there are stipulations.I would like to see Biden eat for a month on $134.00, and live in a middle class neighborhood… Perhaps we should call him out on this when he is funding illegal immigrants
And Americans like us are suffering.

  8. I understand what you are saying. I got my so called increase only to lose more from my food benefits at a greater loss. So their increase actually cost me $10. At this rate I will be completely out of benefits within the next ten days. And all because someone was careless on the job site and cost me my right hand. Which by the way the so called court system decided to cap my suit at $250,000 which was seized up by my insurance company. So this just shows what are hard work goes for. For everyone else to get rich while we are left out in the cold.

  12. I lost everything. My husband died in 2019 (with no life insurance bc he started a new job), I’m on disability, I have 2 kids with autism finishing college and there is NO HELP for basics bc of the healthy Bideners being served. I had a major hemorrhagic stroke and was in the hospital for a year, my kids had to function on there own bc they had no one. There is no driver and everything PROMISED was not delivered. No one cares, no one thinks about us…we have one vehicle that has a blue title that only my oldest can drive, but he is beyond scared to-what do I tell him? My rent is 750, utilities are 400-500 and insurance is 100. He only drives to school for his brother and himself, that takes the rest of the money. My insurance gives me 140/month and we use that for groceries. How do we make it? We have no family.

So had to pull s.s. early. Because of that you don’t ever get your full retirement ever….. I get the small raises which is a drop in the bucket!!
But then your Medicare goes up. So you may end up with half of that cost of living raise. After all this time I am only living on 800.a month. And as we have all said if you get help from snap
And Lutheran so. Service for heat assistance. That’s if you’re income guidelines are at the right level.
I need that help. My house payment went up in seven years 200. Plus.
It’s not right that any aliens got All types of help. We would not be treated the same in another country!!
I realize these people are coming here for a better life. But we cannot provide it for them!!! The government can’t even figure out the budget. Help this country first and foremost!!

  15. Frankly, I will believe I receive a check when it’s in my account. I am on SSDI. I don’t file taxes because I receive way under the amount to qualify to pay taxes. I went to a Tax agent one year, he said I’d be happy to charge you but there is absolutely no reason to file your taxes. I am going to file this year because it seems people have to file their taxes to receive any additional benefits. If you don’t file, you are left out in the cold.

Whoever it is writing these articles is doing it just for click bait and they are pathetic obviously either a foreigner or a young kid that don’t know how social security works in the US they obviously don’t know that we get a statement every time something changes and social security is not a stimulus… (big difference) stimulus is money given by the government. social security is money we paid in and are getting back because of being disabled or aged to retire.. do your research before writing a crappy article

  20. I’m on social security disability. I got a whole $29 raise on my check. My food stamps decreased. And my hood went up plus my rent. It would be nice to get another stimulus check. It’s hard to make it on $943. Specially when you have everyday expenses have to have car insurance. We really do need a raise in social security disability or another stimulus check. Through the whole pandemic . The social security didn’t get any extra help. And now inflation is up we need it more now than ever. I hope we do get a stimulus check we need it.

  22. This country couldn’t careless about disabled and seniors, especially this administration who gives migrants better than its own people. They send billions overseas but give senior and disabled $25 for food. Idk what you can buy that it would get you through the months. many are just starving in this country yet our President is far more concerned with non Americans. I get $850 minus Medicare. I used to be on Medicaid, it covered a lot more with no premiums. I have a very severe medical condition and if it weren’t for my mom leaving me a home and part of her pension I would no doubt be homeless. We need to fight but the problem is we are groups who aren’t able to fight back or fight to speak up. So they don’t bother with us. The amount of money politicians spend on perks aline could greatly help disabled and seniors. SS is nowhere near enough to survive on by itself. Nobody can make it on less than $1500 a month right now.
