Effectiveness of Stimulus Checks for Seniors

  • The GDP has increased and the unemployment rate has decreased significantly as a result of these stimulus checks, even if their exact efficacy is unknown. It is crucial to remember, too, that not all beneficiaries may choose to spend the money right once; some may choose to retain it or utilize it in ways that have no direct effect on economic development.

  1. I wrote yesterday but I didn’t mention that 3 years ago I got a little part job but I made I guess little bit over what I was suppose to make! So what happened? After covin was over who ever at SS started taken 87.00 out of my SS for 8 months, so anyway I can see why lots of seniors are forced to work under the table, but yet the united stated can send billions of dollars over to Uranian and the hell with us, I will never vote again I hope you really do read this,as it stands I’m very disappointed in united states and our government!

    • They did same to me claiming a personal loan i took to pay a greater debt that i should not have paid to the Veterans on my husband account but i should have used that to live on now SS takes 92.00 a month away from my check with out a hearing and I DID apply for and never got due to covid. Go figure They can bully people and get away with it. Im still waiting for that hearing and this has been 4 years ago come end of Jan.

      • My daughter worked for walmart and she was disabled and she went over her hours and they didn’t get in touch with her to warn her about it. They waited 2 years later and sent her a bill for $10,000 that she owed to SS. I asked for a hearing before covid stuck. No hearing yet. Then my daughter died 2022. They sent a notice for 2/28/2024. They said I am responsible for her debt since I was her payee. I don’t think that right. I am raising her child and on a fixed income. Now I have to get a lawyer to help me hopefully get out this mess. Do you know if anyone can help me.

        • That’s so sad I’m sorry to hear about your daughter and your story I wish they could just get the fact of the matter is that you were appointed her payee for ss monies not her personal accountant for all of her financial affairs. Bottom line. Black and white . No Grey area in that equation at all. Again I hope this works out for you best wishes, Tamera

  5. I think that all ready get a government check. EXample ( ssi, ssdi, retirement, ect) should receive extra monthly stimulus checks. We are the ones that need it the most.
It seems that the government hands out money for other countries in stead of helping the American people. The government gives extra money if you have children that’s great for the help just don’t let have keep having children to get extra money. It’s not fair for the people that needs it doesn’t get the help.

  8. I’ve been trying to find help to get me through the end of the month after my small check is gone almost the same day I get it, and every time I try, I never seem to be old enough, or worked until I was 62 or 70 years, or whatever, because I was diagnosed as disabled in my early years, and now I’m 60yrs, but do not meet the requirements needed for anything I could actually use. I am either not old enough yet by a couple of years, or I am not sick and disabled enough, or I already have it. My income amount is fixed and I don’t qualify for increases or help with side loans or grants or emergency housing (which this is what I need the most importantly at this moment in my life, but not considered as being in danger, although I live in terrible conditions, such as no water, no heat, no way to cook or store food, filthy accommodations, such as no way to flush the toilet, take a shower, wash clothes, or clean my room. I have no freedom to the rest of the house and I am confined to my small room with my dogs and our only escape is when we go outside in the backyard. The landowners are known by the APS as abusers of the disabled, yet refused to help me unless I had section 8 and a place to go myself, then they would’ve paid my first month rent for me. I am waiting on the application to come in the mail for my section 8 and then I will still be put on the waiting list for however long, so I’m stuck in this horrible situation until I get a miracle that I must make happen by myself with no one or nothing to cover me in the meantime. I am totally disabled and I have been since 1996. I am therefore expected to survive on 934.00 a month, and this landowner takes 400.00 a month from that for the conditions mentioned above. When that is gone, I have no means to make anymore money for the rest of the month, and I usually end up starving or just wasting away until the next month and then it starts all over again and ends the same way every time, every month. All I want is my own personal place with a workable bathroom and a kitchen I can use, and be able to go in another room when I don’t want to be in my bedroom 24/7. I am 60yrs and I just want to live comfortably with my dogs and not have to give most of my money to rent, especially when I also have a phone bill and a payday loan and needs for basic daily things that you can’t do without if you want to be clean and clean up. Which means, be able to clean yourself, and clean your room, and feed and water your best friends and sometimes treat yourself to something you really want to do for once in a few months. Is this really too much to ask for? Because, if it is, then I no longer wish to be a part of this world, and I will go into a reclusive state and although I may not harbor hatred toward anyone, I will lose all respect for mankind as a whole and have no love for the country who can let this happen to anyone who has ever read the Constitution of the United States of America in the original state in which it was written for the people, by the people, and for us to have protection against the government who would wish to divide and conquer and instill mass hysteria for the benefits of destroying the moral integrity and the empathy that is embedded into us when we were young and taught by the goodness of our own vision and family traits we grew up with that demanded we look out for each other come hell or high water, and always treat each other as we wish to be treated. Is that a lost concept or am I a lost cause and no longer belong in the place I was born and raised, and by birth always believed that everyone was born human and nothing more, and nothing less? If I’m the delusional one for seeing things this way, then call me crazy, and I will tell you that I am the sane one living in an insane world, and that is why you will call me crazy. We fear what we don’t understand, and we don’t understand what is not disclosed for our knowledge. Those who can see beyond the shadows and lies of their culture will never be understood, let alone be believed by the masses. I don’t know if you get what I’m saying or not, but I choose kindness that can kill, I will choose the path that’s free, I will choose free will. Sky above, earth below, and peace within ✨️. Be at peace with yourself and if you can’t stand with me, don’t lean on me.

  10. You know I have been declared disabled as of 2016 however I filled in 2014 and finally was awarded SSI which as I feel like I was cast into direct poor poverty strickend disaster and would not wish this on anyone.since I’ve been on SSI I live in a HUD housing low income based apartments and they are shit management company does nothing yet wants you to pay 30% of your SSI which we are fixed only getting 914.00 a month and paying 30% to them and then my acureed monthly bills phone, Internet, couple small minimum payments for credit cards and little food cause I don’t have food stamps,as well as laundry and supplies for cleaning etc, which at end of the day I am lucky to have 30.00 left over to make it till the end of the month.which I get all done on the day money hits the debit card so I have been thinking about all the bullshit promises and watch money flowing to Ukraine and now Israel wars and screw those of us that Should be taken care of first but know war is money. Then all the States gets awarded financial assistance to help its people well what they do is give it to Frontline workers and I know they deserve something but at least they have employment of minimal 60,000.00 a year insurance food on the table while I am starving. Why don’t they look at us that are back in a corner and ready to do things that may not be right but I’m a survivor and will do anything to stay alive think about that then what they do is find another nitch to screw the lowest people out there by giving money out to ssdi over 65 and here I am 63 can’t work due to extreme diabetes, neuropathy, bipolar, PTSD, high anxiety and extreme depression as well as visually impaired and slowly going completely blind and I ask myself what the ffff.i have a hatred towards all government now and stuck in this shit hole apartment without running water to the kitchen since day before Thanksgiving but its ok right.so I get bent over by everything I do and others in my same situation.but we just keep trugging forward to see another day of bliss what I say to that is go F yourself them people at the top or making decisions for us poor poverty strickend people I say karma and your fake promises will get you in the end I as well as others just want the help promised that the USA promises.

  13. I am 70. Partially disabled I sure could use the extra money. The government sends so much money out of the country. What about us? I think all of us that are able need to go to Washington or assign people to go and ask to be heard in person. We elected people to do this for us but I don’t think they really are doing a very good job. So sad this country aren’t taking care of their own first. Borned here got married raised our kids paid our taxes here. Now I feel because we’re not working anymore they have no more use for us. That is so unfair. Take care of us first then send help whenever with what is left. I am sure with billions will be plenty. No one from the government will read our posts. God bless you all
